YOU HAVE QUESTIONS,
WE HAVE ANSWERS.
-
How many animals are on the farm?We can confirm that we have two dogs, four goats and an always growing flock of chickens (around 25ish, heavy on the -ish).
-
Do you breed goats to sell them?At the moment, no. We have a very young herd (or tribe, or trip) of goats. Two of our Nigerian Dwarf girls, Thelma and Louise, may be ready in Spring of 2023, but we won't be breeding our pocket goat, Ethel, or our Nubian goat, Lucy.
-
Can people take pictures at your farm?Absolutely - we allow photographers to come to the property to take pictures with clients for a small fee. We have wooded paths, fence lines, fields, tall pines, gravel roads, beautiful sunsets and cute animals, of course.
-
Do you milk your goats?Nope, in order to milk a goat, they have to have babies. No babies, no milk. :)
-
Is your farm a "no kill" farm?We do not raise our animals as a food source, we love them too much to eat them. We prefer to hunt deer and purchase beef/chicken from local farms.
-
Can people visit your animals?Sure - but holler at us first, and let's set up a formal time and objective for your visit.
-
What types of canning do you teach the most?We teach the most water bath canning classes but have a lot of interest in pressure canning.
-
Is pressure canning hard? It's intimidating.Anything can be intimidating if you haven't done it before - that's where we come in. Pressure canning has a lot of steps, but it's not really that hard once you walk through it a time or two. Check out our upcoming classes or request a class on our class page.
-
Do you have canning recipes to share?Of course! we have a few recipes listed over on the blog. Looking for something specific? You can always let us know and we will track it down for you.
-
Do you teach private canning classes?Yes - most of the canning classes are small and capped at 6 people. But if you're interested in bringing the canning class (and supplies) to you, for a small group, we can do it. Just holler at us, and let's set something up.
